Product Overview
‘Smart Dot’ is a device that becomes a laser pointer when plugged into the audio jack of Smartphone. It is an exciting new product that is powered by the Smartphone and is free from battery replacements. ‘Smart Dot’ provides easy, convenient, and flawless and presentation environment when used with the free ‘Smart Dot’ App with multiple functions. It is sure to become an excellent presentation partner for you.
By combining a laser pointer and Smart Phone, ‘Smart Dot’ is an exciting new product that allows the use of both a physical and virtual laser pointer simultaneously.
The small cylindrical (8.9mm diameter) ‘Smart Dot’ can be plugged into any 3.5mm headphone minijack of iPhone & iPod Touch.
It is designed to be incredibly small and simple to configure and use in addition, it does not require any separate batteries.
‘Smart Dot’ consists of a Stylus Pen Type for multi touch display and a looped Strap Type. The use of the product can be configured as needed.

Housing Made of Aluminum, a Capacitive Stylus Pen provides the functionality of easy, convenient drawing and writing.

Made of soft and flexible silicon, the ‘Smart Dot’ with Strap can be attached to become a key chain, hand strap, or any other stylish accessory. The Stopper with spine prevents the Stylus Pen from rolling off a table or any other hard surface.

Q. Laser Pointer does not work
A. Please check the followings
Check whether Max Volume Limit is Off (for iPhone)
Home > Settings > Music > Volume Limit > ‘OFF’ or set the volume to ‘Max’
* For ‘Smart Dot App’ version 1.0, the volume should be set at Max
Check Mono Audio is Off (for iPhone)
Home > Settings > General > Accessibility > Mono Audio > Set to ‘OFF’
Q. Error while activating Host Program
A. Please check the followings.
Error Message: Application Error (0xC000135))
This is an error message when .NET Framework 3.5 version is not installed. Please install .NET Framework 3.5 version..
Error Message: ‘Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application’
This is an error message when .NET Framework is installed, but not compatible each other. .NET Framework 3.5 version must be installed even thought .NET Framework 4.0 version has been installed.
Q. Network does not connect
A. Please check the followings.
When connect with LAN or Wi-Fi
The computer that Host Program is running and the Smartphone should use same router (or Gateway). When the computer and the Smartphone are connected into different Wi-Fi, it may not be connected due to different IP address or firewall.
When connect with personal Hotspot (Tethering)
Check whether the Personal Hotspot has been activated in the setting of the Smartphone. If activated, check whether the Smartphone has be selected on the Wi-Fi list of the computer. When the password for the Personal Hotspot has been set, enter the password. Without the password, it would not be connected.
Application
'Smart Dot’ APP
‘Smart Dot’ Application is an Essential Smartphone App. ‘Basic Mode’ activates the Laser pointer On and Off, and ‘Presentation Mode’ activates the Laser Pointer as well as the presentation environment.
'Smart Dot’ Host Program
‘Smart Dot’ Host Program is a program that works on the computer. This must be installed and activated on the computer for the presentation to synchronize with ‘Smart Dot’ App on the Smartphone to switch into ‘Presentation Mode’.
Basic Mode
Basic Mode is for activation of ‘Smart Dot’ laser pointer On and Off. Plug the ‘Smart Dot’ into audio jack of Smartphone, and by pressing ‘Laser’ button at the Basic Mode, the Laser Pointer turns on. Detaching the finger turns off the laser.
Sync Presentation Mode
By synchronizing with computer through the ‘Presentation Mode’ of ‘Smart Dot’ App, user can control pages at ‘MS PowerPoint’ or ‘Apple Keynote’ presentation environment. And on the track pad in the Smartphone, user can control the mouse remotely.
Sync of ‘Presentation Mode’ in Wi-Fi environment
1. Press ‘Presentation Mode’ from Basic Mode of ‘Smart Dot’ App.
2. Run ‘Smart Dot’ Host Program on the computer to synchronize (refer to page 9)
3. Enter the IP Address, shown on ‘Smart Dot’ Host Program, into ‘Smart Dot’ App IP windows
4. Press ‘Continue’ to synchronize the computer and the Smartphone
Sync of ‘Presentation Mode’ by using personal hotspot
1. Press ‘Settings’ icon on the Smartphone
2. Select ‘Personal Hotspot’ and turn it ON (recommend password setting)
3. Search Wi-Fi on the computer and select the Smartphone to connect
4. Press ‘Auto Find’ button at ‘Enter Host IP Address’ page of ‘Smart Dot’ App.
5. By synchronizing, the Smartphone and the computer are connected.
